A Visit to a Historical Place
In terms of tourism, a wide variety of world heritage, cultural heritage is located in India. All these heritage also provide us information about the work style (painting) of ancient times.
Everyone wants to see the historical buildings of his country. Every historical building reminds of the glory of the past. Every historical building reminds us something about the great rulers who built it. The visitor gets a glimpse of their Glory.
During last summer vacation, I went to Agra with my family. Where we visited to many places. We also visited the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is located on a city called Agra in Uttar Pradesh.
The Taj Mahal is the most beautiful building by the great Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan in the sweet memory of his beloved Queen Mumtaz Mahal. It was built about 350 years ago.
The Taj Mahal was named as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983, “a jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally acclaimed masterpieces of the world’s heritage”.
It is a grand building.It is stand on the right Bank of the river Yamuna. The Gateway of taj mahal which is made of Red Stone is very beautiful. The main building is made of white Marbles on the high platform. There are four long thin white minarets on at each corner.
From the gateway to the tomb there is a board path paved with tall, thick and stately cypress trees on either side. The fountains flow here and there. Green grass lawns and beautiful flower plants add to its beauty.
Inside the tomb, the emperor Shah Jahan and his beloved Mumtaz Mahal lie Buried side by side. The marble work in the hall of taj mahal is worth seeing.
The Taj has been described as a poem in marble. In the moonlight it look like a silver Palace. It is a thing of beauty and joy forever.
We stayed there for about 3 hours. We enjoyed the peace and beauty around.
