Indira Gandhi National open University is an open University incorporated under the Indira Gandhi National open University Act, 1985 with an object to provide knowledge and opportunities of higher education to the mass through distance education system. IGNOU is a nationally accepted distance Education University providing Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Doctorate, Diploma and Certificate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, law and other fields. The admission into Management courses are offered through OPENMAT score and for B.Ed, entrance test are being held. University offers two sessions – one in January and another in July. IGNOU B.Ed 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The application form for B.Ed. entrance test will be released tentatively in the last week of January 2024 and last date of submission will be in last week of February 2024.

Applicants should possess Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Science or Sciences or Commerce or Humanity with a minimum of 50% marks.

Candidate possessing Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Mathematics and Science or equivalent should secure minimum of 55% marks.

Trained in-service teachers in elementary school or candidate who completed face to face mode teacher’s training programme recognised by NCTE can also apply.

SC/ ST/ OBC or PWD applicant will get reservation of 5% in minimum eligibility.

There is no age limit for applying in B.Ed.

IGNOU B.Ed 2024 Exam: How to Fill IGNOU B.ED Form

Candidate can apply through both offline in on online mode.

Applicants need to visit the official website of IGNOU, ignou.ac.in, and fill in the application form with all the required personal, educational and contact details.

Photograph and digital signature need to be uploaded in the application form, along with submission of application fee.

Application fee can be paid through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or demand draft.

For offline mode of submission of application form, application need to download the application form from the official website, fill in the required details on hard copy and have to post the filled in application form to the regional office of IGNOU.

Applicants are advised to save a filled-in copy of submitted application fee for future reference.

  • IGNOU B.Ed 2024 Application Fee will be Rs.1000 for all candidates
  • All candidates need to pay there IGNOU B.Ed 2024 application fee before submitting the application form
  • IGNOU B.Ed 2024 Application fee can be paid through online mode using debit card, credit card etc

IGNOU B.Ed 2024 Exam Pattern

Examination will be conducted last week of April 2024 and for the notification will be released by concerned authority.

Examination will be conducted for 2 hours with total of 100 questions, 1 mark each.

The medium of examination will be Hindi and English both.

Question paper includes multiple choice type question and there will be two parts in question paper – Part A and Part B.

Part A has four sections – (a) Section 1.General English Comprehension of 10 marks. (b) Section 2. Logical and Analytical Reasoning of 20 marks. (c) Section 3. Educational and General Awareness of 25 marks. (d) Section 4. Teaching learning and the school of 25 marks.

Part B belongs to subject competence in any one of the subjects from English, Hindi, Science, Mathematics and Social Science. The section will have 20 questions.

Syllabus of part B comprises of learnings of standard 9th and 10th as prescribed by CBSE and NCERT.

IGNOU B.Ed 2024 Admit Card

Admit card used to be released before 5 to 7 working days of commencement of examination and same can be downloaded from the official website with the help of login credentials like registration number or date of birth. Admit card includes personal and examination details of the candidate. it is mandatory to bring hall ticket for admit card to the examination centre along with the ID provided by IGNOU, as without these documents candidate will not be allowed to enter into the examination hall. Applicants are advised to retain their admit card in the completion of admission process.

IGNOU B.Ed 2024 Result

The result is provided in the form of score card within 5 weeks of examination. The scorecard will include segregated marks of each section along with the confirmation of qualification or non qualification.If a candidate didn’t receive a score card within stipulated time, it is advised to contact regional director of the region. Qualified candidates need to deposit a program fee of Rs.20000 in the form of demand draft to the regional office. Candidate have to deposit original AdmitCard, score card and Demand draft representing the fee to the regional office of IGNOU. The student will then get admission into the B.Ed.The total fees of B.Ed isRs.50000, which can be paid later on as per the correspondence provided by IGNOU and minimum and maximum duration of course is 2 years and 5 years respectively.

IGNOU B.Ed 2024 Counselling

Competent authority will conduct the counselling process in various regional centres located all over the India. Candidates will be shorted for the counselling process on the basis of merit list (as per the marks in the entrance exams). There can be more counselling process as per the seat availability.  Candidates need to carry their all original certificate for the verification purpose.
