Established in 1916 and located in Karnataka, India, Mysore University is a State University with more than 180 colleges, 60000 students and 37 departments. The University is approved by UGC, NAAC and AIU. It offers    Under-graduation, Post Graduation and Doctorate programs in Science,Arts, Management,Commerce,Law,Trading etc.Along with normal courses, the university offers distant courses like Diploma in Manuscriptology, Criminology and correctional, MBA in Urdu, MS in Animation, M.tech in CST, PhD, MPhil etc.

Mysore University Admission 2024 Eligibility Criteria

For Undergraduate programmes, applicant must have passed 10 + 2 examination or intermediate or Senior school secondary examination or equivalent from relevant field from any recognised Board or State or National open School or equivalent.

For post graduate programmes,  applicants must have passed Bachelor degree or equivalent from the relevant field from any recognised University or State or National open School or equivalent.

The students who are appearing in last year of bachelor’s degree or equivalent from recognised university or state or National open School or equivalent can also apply for postgraduate programmes.

For PhD, MPhil or doctorate programmes, applicant must have possessed masters degree in relevant field from a recognised university or equivalent.

For undergraduate programmes, minimum of 45% marks in 10 + 2 or equivalent examination is compulsory. for post graduate programs minimum marks in bachelor’s degree or equivalent is 45%. However the marks criteria is different for different courses.

Applicants belonging to SCST group will get reservation of 5% as per the guidelines.

Foreign students can seek direct admission without appearing in the entrance test. However, a set of documents need to be submitted by the students for admission. The application and other fees are different too for foreign students as compared to Indian nationals.

Mysore University Admission 2024 Application Form

The admission form can be filled in online mode only.

The applicant needs to register on official website http://www.uni-mysore.ac.in/ with the help of mobile number and email ID.

Candidates are advised to provide correct communication details as it is compulsory for OTP and future correspondence.

Candidates will receive the login credentials which have to be used to filling the admission form after registration.

Once registration has been done candidates have to login into their accounts and fill in the admission form with their personal and educational details.

A number of documents like domicile certificate, mark sheet, transfer certificate, birth certificate, photographs, digital signature etc. needs to be uploaded in the admission form.

Next step is the submission of application fee, which can be submitted through debit card or credit card or net banking.

Candidates need to download the filled in application form and submit it to the Chairman of the selection committee of the concerned department.

Mysore University Admission Examination and merit list Details

Different set of examination is being conducted for different courses. The subject of question paper are different as are the courses selected.

The examination of PG courses are conducted by Mysore University but the examination for MBA, MCA and M.Tech are conducted by Karnataka Examination Board.

Two merit list in the name of Scheme A and Scheme B are circulated by the University.  The merit list include the academic record and  entrance examination score. Both the entrance examination marks and previous academic records have equal weightage for admission in Mysore University.

Both Scheme A and Scheme B has two set of candidates – selected and waitlisted. Once admission process of selected candidates of each scheme is completed, the waitlisted candidates of respective scheme is given a chance to get admission in the University.

Along with regular courses Mysore University deals with online or distance courses too. The courses which are offered as a distance education in Mysore University MBA, BBA, BA, B.Com etc. The admission process for distant education is same as of the normal courses. Applicant need to opt for distant education at the time filling up of application form.

Mysore University Facilities

Along with educational facility Mysore University provide additional or extra curriculum facilities to the students too. The university has Physical Education Centre, Computer centre International centre and Day care centre. Physical Education Centre help students to remain healthy with the help of physical activities. Under Computer centre, several computer programme, workshops and training where organised by the University for the students to help them in gaining more knowledge and vocational degree. With the help of International centre, University help International or foreign students with their passports, ID and other documentation. It organizes Open house events, workshops and training programs for students. The university provide Day Care Centre for children of their staff for employees.

Mysore University 6th oldest University of India and is growing rapidly in educational field. It has its collaboration with Chinese institution for information technology training programme.
