TET Exam 2024 Notification, Exam Date, Eligibility, Pattern, Syllabus: If you want to become a government school teacher you have to qualify the TET exam. TET stands for Teacher Eligibility Test conducted once or twice (depends on number of vacancy in school) in a year by state government. As we know to become a teacher in Govt. School TET exam is compulsory without clearing the TET examination no one will eligible to become a teacher in govt. schools (Primary Level school class I to class V or Upper Primary Level School Class VI to VIII).

TET examination is Minimum eligibility criteria to become a govt. teacher. There would be two papers in TET Exam, Paper- I and Paper- II. To become a teacher in Primary Level School Class-I to Class V candidates can apply for Paper- II and for Upper Primary Level Candidates can apply for Paper-II. A very interesting thing about this TET examination is candidates can apply for both the papers Paper- I and Paper-II also.

Validity of TET Certificate

State TET certificates will now have lifetime validity instead of 7 years.

TET 2024 Exam Eligibility Criteria

Interested candidates willing to apply for the TET exam can check the eligibility criteria first. Eligibility Criteria can be different for various states. TET Exam Eligibility Criteria are:

Age Limit:

Educational Qualification:

For Primary Teacher (Class I to Class VI)

Senior Secondary Exam or any Equivalent exam with minimum of 50% marks + Passed or appearing in the final year of 2 year diploma in elementary education

Senior Secondary Exam or any Equivalent exam with minimum of 50% marks + 4 years in Bachelor of Elementary Education

Graduation passed + 2 year of Elementary Education

For Upper Primary Level:  (Class VI to VIII)

Graduation Passed + 2 years of Elementary Education

Graduation Passed with 50% marks + passed the 1 year of B.ED

Intermediate passed with 50% marks + passed or appearing for the final year of B.EL.ED is eligible

Passed or appearing for the final year of 4 year integrated course BA, B.ED, B.Sc, or any other equivalent course

TET 2024 Exam Pattern

  • TET exam paper will available in two languages Hindi- English Both.
  • Candidates needs to solves the quarries within the 2:30Hrs (Time duration of exam)
  • There will no negative marking in TET examination.

Difference between TET & CTET Exam

TET Stands for Teacher Eligibility Test and CTET stands for Central Teacher Eligibility Test.  To know the difference between both these we can read the following bullet points.

  • TET is a State level Entrance Exam while CTET is National Level Entrance Exam
  • After qualifying the TET examination aspirants can apply only for the State level govt. school vacancy while candidates qualify the CTET exam can apply for both Central level and State level govt. school teacher vacancy.
  • There is no upper age limit for Applying CTET Exam while there is an age criteria for TET exam as set by the state Govt.
  • CTET exam conducted by CBSE: Central Board of Secondary Education and TET exam conducted by State or central govt. of India.

For General Category candidates qualifying marks would be 60%

TET 2024 Exam Selection Process

The selection of any Individual candidates will goes through following phases. Candidates need to apply for the TET exam. Depending upon their eligibility or choice candidates can apply for the Paper –I (primary level) or Paper- II (Upper Primary school) or both the papers. Candidates can apply via online mode or offline mode. Candidates need to qualify the written examination conducted by the respective authority with minimum percentage of marks (marks mentioned above).  Now whenever there will be a teaching job vacancy in any Govt. school of a state,  TET qualified candidates can apply for the vacancy.

How to Become Govt. Teacher after qualifying the TET Exam?

To become a govt. teacher first candidates need to qualify the TET exams with minimum of 60% marks (for General category candidates), 55% marks for reserve category candidates. And then whenever there will a vacancy in Govt. School (of State level) candidates have to apply for the vacancy.
